PetExec 2.1
- Improved the way boarding works. Kennels are now defined in Customer Preferences -> Kennel Count. Removed number of kennels in boarding services and made drop down pointing to defined kennels. This allows multiple boarding types to share a count with others.
- Allow boarding dogs to be signed into and out of daycare without being signed out of the system.
- Owner can purchase daycare package at checkout and apply it to current day. Once they purchase a valid daycare package, daycare visits can be applied or removed at checkout.
- Implemented credit card reader into checkout process (enabled in preferences).
- Add products directly to the cart icon shown on dashboard next to owner information.
- Added ability to order the drop downs in sections. This way you can choose which item will appear on top of the list.
- Added Preference Options:
- Disable boarding emails.
- Use Intelliswipe credit card reader.
- Automatically fill total dollar amount in applied field in checkout.
- Added Minimal dashboard to save bandwidth.
- Intelliswipe Credit Card Reader
Our customers requested a way to import credit card data into PetExec without having to manually type in the numbers. We wanted a product to be easy to use, reliable and compatible. Being that 2.0 was such a gigantic upgrade, we congratulate our wonderful development team for a job well done. Now that you can choose kennel types, we wrote up a little tutorial so you wouldn’t miss a beat!

To Add Kennel Types:
Go to Products & Services > Add Product/Service
Under Service Type choose Boarding
List the Kennel Name in the Product/Service Field
Add Price in the Price Field
Quantity is the default number that is used in the shopping cart at checkout so leave that amount as 1
Add Number of Kennels of this particular type. PetExec uses this number to prevent overbooking so make sure this is the correct number of kennels.
Check the Taxable box if applicable.
Ok you’re are all set! You can add more kennel types, or modify what you have.

What to do on Saturday, August 29th to activate version 2.0 >
This is a partial list of new features!
- Revamped boarding system to include the ability to customize by boarding type. You will now be able to set different boarding by sizes, naming conventions, types of pets, etc.
- Ability to set the quantity available of each boarding type to keep accurate records and prevent overbooking.
- Owners can now login and choose boarding types when making online reservations.
- New more detailed boarding report.
- New report that shows when pets are coming and going.
- Added delete link for deleting a pet picture from the database and disk.
- Add option to use 30 minute or 5 minute intervals in daycare and boarding scheduling.
- Fixed receipt PDF to break pages better.
- Changed checkout and modify order procedures to show tip fields after the fact even if they were initially processed as zero. Receipt will only show it if the amount is not zero.
- Added Maintain Locations section to Company Preferences. This is used to populate drop-off and pick-up drop-downs in daycare scheduling, boarding scheduling. Added pick-up and drop-off locations for grooming, daycare scheduling and boarding.
- Add Product List and Product List Spreadsheet To Products and Services section.
- Associated vaccinations to pet types. This allows specific vaccinations to be tied to a specific pet type.
- When adding a new pet, selecting the pet type and leaving the field will update the vaccination list to the selected type
- Added Boarding Daily To-Dos and PDF (In place already)
- Modified products and services to allow daycare packages to be assigned specific number of days; boarding types to allow the number of kennels in-house.

An excellent overview of medication and feeding requirements of the boarded pets. Under Daycare & Boarding Select: Boarding Daily To-Do. From this screen you can select a boarding date and see the required feeding information and medications from the report.

Now if you use the schedule daycare feature, you can pull up a report for any date and modify the scheduled daycare from there. Under Daycare & Boarding Select: Daycare Schedule Report. From this screen you can select a date to display pets that are scheduled for daycare on that date. If you need to delete a pet from the schedule, you can select and the pet will be deleted from the current schedule.

First, it is a good idea to set up a virtual customer called Walk-in (or a similar name). That way, you can track how many orders come in from passerby traffic. Go to Owners and Pets> Owner Purchase> then you can search for the virtual customer. Simply select the items your customer wants to buy from the drop down list and either pick: Purchase and Place in Cart (if you want it held in the cart) or Purchase and Checkout.

In a perfect world, we would never need to go back and redo orders after they had already been completed. For the fortunate few, this a rarity. We added a way to look up past orders to modify and resubmit the information. Phew – that makes life easier!
Here are the steps:
- Select Order Processing
- Select Modify Orders
- Search by keyword and PetExec will display a list of orders. Select the order you want
- Scroll to the bottom of the page until you see Payment History and make the changes to the order.
- Select Update History. How easy was that!
This feature will give you more control over every stage of the transaction process. Enjoy your new power : )

In our neverending quest to serve the needs of the masses of dog daycare owners, we added the ability to schedule dog daycare. While some of our customers prefer to use an open door policy, others prefer to have a schedule so they can plan for staff and other requirements depending on the count of canines. So for those of you lovers of schedules, your day is here!

Your customers can really save you time if you allow them to log in to the PetExec system. While there, they can modify their pet profiles (we don’t give them access to vaccination records – and you know why) and even schedule boarding appointments. This feature is a great benefit to the dog owners and helps you keep any changes in pet records up to the minute accurate. The easiest way to have your customers login is through a button on your website. You can name the button ‘owner login’ or something similar and let your owners finger’s do the walking.
