PetExec FAQ’s

We are ready to switch from our current software to PetExec, will you transfer the data?

The support team at PetExec can look at the data and determine whether or not data can be transferred.  We can generally transfer most pet and owner data.

What happens if my internet goes down?

Many of our customers have a back-up plan and have a USB device that offers internet access anywhere or alternatively some smart phones can be tethered to the computer for internet access.  The data is still safe. We find that we offer a much more reliable solution than having a program loaded on a computer – computers do crash!   With web-based PetExec, If something goes wrong with your computer hardware, just login to another p.c. or mac – easy as that!

Not only that, but PetExec databases are automatically backed up in case something does happen continuously.  So Relax, PetExec has you covered!

Are Feature Upgrades free?

Yes, current subscribers always get free upgrades and the price they pay when they enroll never goes up.

Do I need cash registers, scanners and other equipment to use PetExec?

You don’t need any expensive equipment that usually slows you down and costs a small fortune.  Don’t fall for those upsale gimmicks!  PetExec does work with scanners for our customers who love to scan – but they are an option.  Some prefer selecting from a drop down list and others like to scan.  PetExec has features built in that streamline your workflow and allow multiple users at the same time – you simply don’t need any bulky equipment to weigh you down.

Can PetExec process credit cards?

Yes, of course!  We are compatible with the big guys – Authorize.net and  Payflo Pro.  If you already have a card reader and want to swipe credit cards, simply set PetExec to manual .  The sale will still be tabulated as a credit card sale in your reports.

Is there an extra charge if we have more than five people using PetExec at the same time.

No! Since your employees and customers can log-in and check records 24/7, you will often have many people logged in at once.  As long as they have unique usernames  & passwords, many people can access PetExec at the same time.  PetExec is built for this and there is no extra charge.

We believe that customers should not be charged extra fees for features and services.  PetExec is an all-inclusive system.

That Email blast is cool – is there an extra charge for that?

No! Blast away.

How many people use PetExec – is it thoroughly tested?

The number keeps growing, but we have many customers from California to Long Island, Canada and even Australia and New Zealand happily using PetExec.  Thousands of people and pets use PetExec every doggone day.  Many of our customers are seasoned IT professionals turned pet daycare owners!  We test and have our customers test on the development server to ensure that everything works before releasing a new feature.

  1. we also own a dog daycare – http://www.camp-wesley.com.

    We are in the process of opening a second location that will have daycare, boarding, grooming, training and retail.

    We will also continue to offer our Doggone Good Pet Care services – group and private dog walks, playgroups, pet sits, travel pet sit packages, pet taxi and sleepovers.

    It appears that your application handles most of our needs except the following:

    Training
    All our Pet Care travel services. Today we use powerpetsitter for these services.

    I wondering if your company has plans for support the items above and if so what is the priority / time frame?

    If you are going to get into the travel pet care services will you build a flexable system like powerpetsitter? They enable you to add custom questions at the client and pet level. They also let you add custom questions for all your services and all these custom questions are key to travel pet care.

    • Hi Jennifer,

      Sounds like you are keeping busy! The list of types of services for pets keeps growing and though we do have some customers that add service types for services such as dog walking and dog sitting, we don’t have anything in place for pet taxi services. We would have to know more details on how the service works – how do you dispatch – types of scheduling requirements, etc. We do have a location field that can be filled in if you have certain specific pick up or drop off sites.

      Presently the focus of our business is on our core pet daycare, boarding, grooming, training and retail but as the needs of our customer’s grow so do we.
